Created for The House of African Art’s "Playground” exhibition, How we Heal is a performance ritual that explores the use of play as a tool for healing.
Within a meditative container, Lesley invites the audience to commune with her as she explores the wisdom that lies within her body, the themes of joy, play, pain and loss, what it means to give ourselves the permission to feel and the generational healing that begins when we do.
The performance was followed by a panel talk that explored childhood trauma, resiliency and generational healing.
